This Privacy Policy explains how California Autohaus, Inc. (“California Autohaus,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares personal information when you visit californiaautohaus.com (the “Website”), book or request service online, or contact us. It also explains the choices and rights you have, including rights under California law.

California Autohaus is an independent European auto repair shop located at 386 Encinitas Blvd, Encinitas, CA 92024.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you book an appointment, request a quote, fill out a form, call, text, or email us, we collect the information you provide. This can include:

  • your name, phone number, and email address;
  • your vehicle’s year, make, and model;
  • the service you need, your preferred appointment date and time, and whether you will wait or drop off;
  • anything else you choose to include in a message.

Information collected automatically. When you use the Website, we and third parties automatically collect certain information using cookies, pixels, and similar technologies. This can include:

  • IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system;
  • pages viewed, time on page, links clicked, and how you arrived at the Website (for example, from a search engine or an ad);
  • advertising click identifiers;
  • general location (city or region) derived from your IP address.

The Website does not request access to your device’s precise location. Third-party advertising and analytics providers may estimate your general location from your IP address, as described in their own privacy policies.

Information from others. We may receive information from advertising and analytics partners, such as reports about how our ads performed. We do not buy personal information.

2. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • schedule, confirm, and perform vehicle service, and to communicate with you about your appointment, estimate, or vehicle;
  • respond to your questions and requests;
  • operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Website;
  • understand how visitors use the Website (analytics);
  • measure the results of our advertising and show our ads to people who have visited the Website (see Section 4);
  • send service reminders and offers to our customers (see Section 6);
  • detect and prevent fraud, spam, and security incidents;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. How we disclose information

We do not sell personal information for money. We disclose personal information to:

  • Service providers that help us run our business and the Website: website hosting and security (SiteGround, Sucuri), online booking (OktoRocket), customer management and messaging, analytics (Google Analytics), and embedded content (Google Maps, Google Fonts).
  • Advertising partners. We use Google Ads to measure and deliver our advertising. Our online booking provider also uses Google and Meta (Facebook) advertising technologies when you open the booking tool (see Section 4). Under California law, allowing online identifiers and browsing activity to be collected for cross-context behavioral advertising can be considered “sharing.”
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information when required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our customers, our business, or others.
  • Business transfers. We may disclose information in connection with a sale, merger, or transfer of all or part of our business.

4. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

On our Website pages we use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Necessary and functional purposes: to make the Website work, remember your privacy choices, keep the Website secure, and display embedded maps and fonts.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use the Website, such as the pages visited and device information.
  • Advertising: Google Ads helps us measure when our ads lead to calls, bookings, or visits, and lets us show our ads to people who have previously visited the Website (remarketing).

Online booking tool. Our online booking tool is provided by a third party, OktoRocket. It loads only when you click a “Book Appointment” button (or follow a link that opens it). Once opened, the booking provider operates its own technologies inside the tool, including Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads, the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, and a session-recording service (Sentry). These may record your interactions with the booking tool, including clicks, the steps you view, and information you type into it. They may also send information to Google, Meta, and the booking provider. The booking provider controls these technologies under its own privacy practices, and the privacy choices in Section 5 do not control them.

6. Texts and emails

We send service reminders, appointment updates, and occasional offers by text message or email only to our customers, based on the contact information in our customer records. We do not send marketing messages based only on a visit to our Website.

  • You can opt out of marketing texts at any time by replying STOP, and of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us. You may still receive messages about service you’ve requested.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • We do not sell or share your mobile number or text-messaging consent with third parties for their own marketing.

7. Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know / access the personal information we have collected about you, including the categories, sources, purposes, and the categories of third parties we disclose it to;
